Corpus callosum size and homotopic connectivity in Autism spectrum disorder

Niharika Loomba et al.

Summary: This study examined how the morphology of the corpus callosum (CC) in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) affects functional communication across hemispheres. The central sub-region of CC was found to be significantly smaller in ASD, and ASD participants showed stronger homotopic connectivity in the superior frontal gyrus. Additionally, a negative correlation was observed between the volumes of the CC central sub-region and social ability in ASD.

Neurobiological Bases of Social Networks

Mengfei Han et al.

Summary: The structure of social networks is linked to brain activity, while functional properties rely on multilayered brain-social network interactions. Variation in neuroendocrine system and gene predictors influence an individual's social network structure. Future studies should explore the effects of cognitive abilities, characteristics of social networks in mental illness, and the neural mechanisms behind changes in social networks over time.
