Summary: A novel manganese (II) complex of the quinolone antibacterial agent gemifloxacin with Mn2+ was synthesized and characterized, showing moderate interaction with DNA and improved antimicrobial activities compared to the parent gem drug. Density functional theory and docking studies were conducted to optimize the geometry and explore the binding information of the compounds to DNA.

Summary: Three new metal complexes were synthesized and their structures characterized. The complexes were found to interact with DNA through intercalative mode and exhibit antiproliferative activities on tumor cells. Additionally, the complexes induced apoptosis in HepG-2 cells.
