Influence of different calcium hydroxide removal protocols on the bond strength of epoxy resin-based sealer in long oval root canals

Patricia Maria Escobar et al.

Summary: The study showed that the removal of Ca(OH)2 from long oval root canals using XPF and PUI resulted in higher bond strength values and better sealer penetration compared to SN. The SN group had the lowest bond strength values and less effective sealer penetration.

Microstructural composition, ion release, and bioactive potential of new premixed calcium silicate-based endodontic sealers indicated for warm vertical compaction technique

J. L. Sanz et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the microstructural composition, ion release, cytocompatibility, and mineralization potential of Bio-C Sealer ION+ and EndoSequence BC Sealer HiFlow compared with AH Plus in contact with human periodontal ligament cells. Both Bio-C Sealer ION+ and EndoSequence BC Sealer HiFlow showed better cytocompatibility and higher mineralization potential compared to AH Plus. The sealers also exhibited upregulated expression of osteo/cementogenic genes.

Antibacterial activity, cytocompatibility and effect of Bio-C Temp bioceramic intracanal medicament on osteoblast biology

J. C. M. Guerreiro et al.

Summary: Bio-C Temp showed similar cytocompatibility at higher dilutions, and higher or similar induction of ALP activity and deposition of mineralized nodules compared to Calen (R) and UltraCal (R) XS. However, it exhibited significantly less antibacterial and antibiofilm activity than Calen (R) and UltraCal (R) XS.

Impact of Conservative Endodontic Cavities on Root Canal Preparation and Biomechanical Behavior of Upper Premolars Restored with Different Materials

Rodrigo Dantas Pereira et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the impact of conservative endodontic cavities on root canal preparation, restoration, and biomechanical behavior, finding that CECs had a negative impact on centralization, cleaning of canal surfaces, and percentage of voids in restoration. Controlled memory instruments were the most suitable choice for root canal preparation of CECs. Endodontic cavity did not influence the biomechanical behavior of restored teeth.
