Pathologic features and molecular identification of parelaphostrongylosis in a sitatunga (Tragelaphus spekii)

Josue Diaz-Delgado et al.

Summary: This study reports the occurrence of cerebral nematodiasis in a young introduced sitatunga from Texas, including the pathological features, local inflammatory response immunophenotype, and molecular identification results. The findings contribute to understanding the geographical distribution and host spectrum of Parelaphostrongylus tenuis, emphasizing the importance of this nematodiasis in naive or introduced bovid species in endemic areas.
