We demonstrated a near-infrared laser at 1195.8 nm in a Ho3+ (0.5 at. %):YLF crystal for the first time, with the upper energy level of 5I6, and a 640 nm red laser was used as pump source. A maximum output power of 201 mW, with a slope efficiency of 8.9%, was achieved at the absorbed pump power of 3.16 W in the c polarization. The fluctuations of output power were within 8%, the FWHM of spectrum was approximately 0.75 nm, and the beam quality M2x and M2y factors were measured to be 1.51 and 1.68, respectively.
