A series of thiazole-fused thiazole derivatives 14a-f were synthesized by coupling sulfonamide diazonium chlorides 13a-f with 2-(4-phenylthiazol-2(3H)-ylidene)malononitrile (8) in pyridine. The structures of compounds 14a-f were deduced based on their spectroscopic data. The synthesized compounds showed moderate-to-mild cytotoxic activity, with the compound 14e exhibiting the highest activity.
A series of the thiazoles 14a-f was synthesized by coupling the suitable sulfonamide diazonium chlorides 13a-f with 2-(4-phenylthiazol-2(3H)-ylidene)malononitrile (8) in pyridine. The structures of the compounds 14a-f were deduced by their spectrum data. The synthesized compounds exhibited moderate-to-mild cytotoxic activity, according to the cytotoxic of these compounds. Maximum activity was exhibited by the compound 14e.
