KRP-203 Is a Desirable Immunomodulator for Islet Allotransplantation

Ibrahim Fathi et al.

Summary: This study suggests that KRP-203 is an ideal immunomodulator for islet transplantation, as it preserves endocrine function and does not interfere with islet neovascularization. Combination therapy with low-dose sirolimus may be a promising calcineurin-free regimen for islet allotransplantation.

Fibroblast growth factor 7 releasing particles enhance islet engraftment and improve metabolic control following islet transplantation in mice with diabetes

Salamah M. Alwahsh et al.

Summary: Liver-targeted FGF7-GAL-PLGA particles were shown to enhance islet engraftment and improve blood glucose control in diabetic mice, with good safety profile. This targeted approach could be a promising strategy to optimize islet transplantation outcomes in type 1 diabetes.
