Design and simulation of an all-optical Fredkin gate based on silicon slab-waveguide in a 2-D photonic crystal

Summary: In this paper, we proposed and simulated an all-optical Fredkin gate. The structure is simple and compact, utilizing air holes with radii of 177 nm in a silicon slab waveguide. By applying a non-linear ring resonator, the coupling of light is controlled. The gate exhibits a fast rising time of 0.61 ps and is suitable for all-optical integrated circuits.
