Multicenter evaluation of the Quantra with the QStat Cartridge in adult patients undergoing liver transplantation

Antolin S. Flores et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the consistency of the Quantra System (with QStat Cartridge) and ROTEM delta device in monitoring coagulation and fibrinolysis in liver transplantation patients. The results showed a strong correlation between the two devices and an overall agreement of 90.3% in detecting fibrinolysis. Therefore, the Quantra System provides comparable information to the ROTEM delta in assessing hemostatic function.

Efficacy of sonorheometry point of the care device in determining low fibrinogen levels in pregnant blood: an invitro dilution and reconstitution study

Bhavani Shankar Kodali et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a good correlation between Quantra (R) CS, FCS and serum fibrinogen, aiding in predicting coagulation function. The study shows that in pregnant plasma, an FCS value of 2.45 (sensitivity of 79.2% and specificity of 97.3%) and CS value of 10.85 hPa (sensitivity of 83% and specificity of 100%) can predict fibrinogen of 200 mg/dL.

Are Viscoelastic Tests Clinically Useful to Identify Platelet-Dependent Bleeding in High-Risk Cardiac Surgery Patients?

Ekaterina Baryshnikova et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the performance of different point-of-care devices and platelet aggregometry in predicting postoperative major bleeding in high-risk patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The results showed that QUANTRA PCS, ROTEM A10 PC, and Multiplate ADPtest significantly decreased after cardiopulmonary bypass, while ROTEM PC and Multiplate TRAPtest did not. Postoperative platelet function testing can moderately to well predict major bleeding.

Evidence-Based and Clinically Relevant Outcomes for Hemorrhage Control Trauma Trials

John B. Holcomb et al.

Summary: The study aims to develop consensus-based recommendations for primary clinical outcomes for pivotal trials in patients suffering from significant bleeding, including traumatic injury, intracranial hemorrhage, and other 6 categories. Standardized primary outcomes in clinical trials evaluating hemostatic products will facilitate research, interpretation, and translation into clinical practice.

Comparison of the resonance sonorheometry based Quantra® system with rotational thromboelastometry ROTEM® sigma in cardiac surgery - a prospective observational study

Werner Baulig et al.

Summary: This study compared the clotting parameters measured by Quantra and ROTEM devices, and found a strong correlation between the two in terms of clotting time and clot stiffness. However, separate cutoff values need to be established for users of the Quantra device.
