Zhubin Chen et al.

Summary: Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were synthesized using sol-gel method with fenitrothion as the template molecule. The MIPs were fixed onto a silver nanoparticle modified-glassy carbon electrode to prepare the working electrode of an electrochemical sensor. The MIP electrode exhibited distinctive electrochemical properties and showed good analytical performance for fenitrothion. The method had a low limit of detection and was successfully applied to determine fenitrothion in real samples with satisfactory recoveries.

Ganesan Rajkumar et al.

Summary: A protocol for colorimetric detection of potentially hazardous Hg2+ ions was developed using sonochemical-assisted eco-friendly synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) prepared with avocado seed extract. The AgNPs showed good selective sensing response towards Hg2+ ions with a color change and disappearance of the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) band. The unmodified green synthesized AV-AgNPs exhibited promising potential for on-site detection of Hg2+ in water samples.
