Temporal trend in mortality of cardiovascular diseases and its contribution to life expectancy increase in China, 2013 to 2018

Xue Xia et al.

Summary: The declining trend of cardiovascular disease mortality in China has significantly contributed to increased life expectancy. Improvement in mortality rates is more pronounced in females, however, attention is needed for insufficient improvements in young males. Emphasis should be placed on prevention and control of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and stroke sequelae.
