Improving fast-timing time-walk calibration standards: Lifetime measurement of the 2+1 state in 152Gd

L. Knafla et al.

Summary: A 152Eu source was measured for 28 days using an experimental setup that included four LaBr3(Ce) detectors and a CAEN V1730 digitizer. The new measurement of the lifetime of the 2+1 (344 keV) state in 152Gd is r(2+1) = 46.9(3) ps, which has reduced the uncertainty by an order of magnitude compared to the previous result. This improved lifetime is important for electronic fast-timing lifetime measurements and has implications for the systematic correction procedure and measurements in the low picosecond regime.

Systematic investigation of time walk and time resolution characteristics of CAEN digitizers V1730 and V1751 for application to fast-timing lifetime measurement

A. Harter et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigates the timing performance of the integrated digital constant fraction discriminators of CAEN's two digitizer modules V1730 and V1751, with a focus on fast-timing lifetime measurements. The researchers obtain parameter-dependent knowledge of the time walk behavior and time resolution of the digital constant fraction discriminators. The study reveals that both modules have comparable timing performance to other digital fast-timing implementations, but with the added benefit of digital processing.

Higgs modulation of emergent mass as revealed in kaon and pion parton distributions

Summary: The study discusses the distribution functions of K mesons, compares them with similar distributions of π mesons, and reveals how their light-front momentum is shared. The research provides the first parameter-free predictions for K distribution functions, emphasizing the need for new experiments sensitive to all K and π DFs.

Microscopic analysis of prolate-oblate shape phase transition and shape coexistence in the Er-Pt region

X. Q. Yang et al.

Summary: The study uses a five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian to analyze the shape transition and possible low-energy shape coexistence in six even-even isotopic chains, showing a transition from prolate to oblate or triaxial shapes as neutron number increases. Model calculations reproduce empirical isotopic trends and reveal a rapid shape transition in certain isotopic chains, as well as signature for rigid triaxial deformation in transitional isotopes. The calculated low-lying spectra for specific nuclei demonstrate notable multishape coexistence.
