Transboundary transport of ozone pollution to a US border region: A case study of Yuma

Zhen Qu et al.

Summary: This study found that ozone exceedance days in Yuma, Arizona are strongly influenced by emissions from Northern Mexico, suggesting the significant impact of Mexican emissions on local ozone levels. Combining meteorological factors and changes in nitrogen oxides emissions, it was observed that reductions in US nitrogen oxides emissions and meteorological factors led to decreased ozone concentrations in Yuma.

Tropospheric ozone in CMIP6 simulations

Paul T. Griffiths et al.

Summary: The study analyzed the evolution of tropospheric ozone from 1850 to 2100 using CMIP6 data, finding that the models were able to reproduce key spatial, seasonal, and decadal variability and trends observed in the past several decades. The average model ensemble showed an increase in tropospheric ozone burden from 1850 to 2005-2014, with a projected further increase in the ssp370 experiment up to 2100.

Harmonized Emissions Component (HEMCO) 3.0 as a versatile emissions component for atmospheric models: application in the GEOS-Chem, NASA GEOS, WRF-GC, CESM2, NOAA GEFS-Aerosol, and NOAA UFS models

Haipeng Lin et al.

Summary: HEMCO is a software component for computing emissions that allows users to manipulate emissions from different inventories through a configuration file and calculate emissions at any model resolution. Its three-layer architecture includes a Data Input Layer, HEMCO Core, and Model Interface Layer.
