Understanding the Influence of Consumers' Perceived Value on Energy-Saving Products Purchase Intention

Biao Luo et al.

Summary: Due to rapid economic growth, there has been an excessive use of natural resources and environmental deterioration. As a result, environmental problems have received increasing attention. This study investigates the relationship between consumers' perceived value and satisfaction, and their intention to purchase energy-saving products using the appraisal-emotional response-coping theory. The study also analyzes these relationships across different consumer groups. The results show that functional, emotional, conditional, and green value positively affect consumer satisfaction and subsequently promote the intention to purchase energy-saving products. However, social value does not significantly impact consumer satisfaction. The perceived value varies among different consumer groups according to the results of multigroup structural equation modeling analysis. These findings have practical implications for the design and marketing of energy-saving products.
