Emerging S-Scheme Photocatalyst

Liuyang Zhang et al.

Summary: This article presents the superiority and design criteria of the emerging S-scheme heterojunction in photocatalysis. By overcoming the challenges faced by single photocatalysts through the construction of heterojunctions, the S-scheme heterojunction has demonstrated its potential in improving photocatalysis. The critical understanding of the curved Fermi level in the S-scheme heterojunction interface and the current challenges and prospects of S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts are also discussed.

Efficient generation of singlet oxygen on modified g-C3N4 photocatalyst for preferential oxidation of targeted organic pollutants

Liangpang Xu et al.

Summary: Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is a promising photocatalyst for organic pollutant treatment. This study successfully enhanced the photocatalytic activity of g-C3N4 through chemical multi-modification. The S, K-doped/alkalized g-C3N4 product efficiently generates singlet oxygen (O-1(2)) and selectively oxidizes bisphenol A (BPA) for degradation.

In-situ grown N, S co-doped graphene on TiO2 fiber for artificial photosynthesis of H2O2 and mechanism study

Yi Yang et al.

Summary: Artificial photosynthesis is a promising strategy for converting solar energy into environmental-friendly H2O2. In this study, a highly efficient photocatalyst for H2O2 production was developed through dioxygen reduction. The photocatalyst, prepared by doping N and S on graphene onto TiO2 nanofibers, achieved a significantly higher H2O2 yield compared to pure TiO2. This work not only provides a novel approach to enhance photocatalytic performance but also sheds light on the mechanism behind the improved H2O2 production.

Kinetics and Mechanism Investigation of Selective Arsenite Oxidation by Reactive Iodine Species in Hydrogen Peroxide and Iodide (H2O2/I-) System

Zhihao Chen et al.

Summary: The pretreatment of arsenite to arsenate is crucial in the remediation of contaminated waterbodies, and the use of H2O2 to react with I- to generate reactive iodine species for oxidation of arsenite is effective. The presence of coexisting matters does not affect oxidation performance, while chromate, Cu2+, or divalent/trivalent irons enhance oxidation.
