Summary: A wideband RF receiver with a multi-loop architecture and innovative harmonic rejection method achieves a balance between noise and linearity. It also demonstrates improved out-of-band and in-band linearity, input matching, and stability. Fabricated in 28-nm CMOS technology, the prototype achieves a wide bandwidth with low power consumption.

Summary: N-path switching systems using switched-series R-C networks are analyzed in the context of RF receiver front-ends. The study shows that by operating at higher order harmonics of the switching frequency, it is possible to mitigate the need for an accurate low power clock at high frequencies. The proposed architecture for harmonic selection RF receivers utilizes two feed-forward N-path switching filters and harmonic recombination at the baseband. It is demonstrated that reconfiguring the harmonic recombination stage can reduce the input frequency and power consumption of the multi-phase clock generator by selecting the third harmonic of the switching frequency.
