Multicolor fluorescent/room temperature phosphorescent carbon dot composites for information encryption and anti-counterfeiting

Hongmei Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, three different colors of carbon dots (B-CDs, C-CDs, and G-CDs) were prepared using a one-step hydrothermal method. By dispersing the carbon dots in sodium alginate, fluorescent/phosphorescent solid powders were obtained. The phosphorescence lifetimes of these powders were measured, and they showed potential applications in information encryption and anti-counterfeiting.

Design and applications of carbon dots-based ratiometric fluorescent probes: A review

Bin-Bin Chen et al.

Summary: This review provides an overview of carbon dots (CDs)-based ratiometric fluorescence (FL) probes, focusing on their construction strategies and applications in ions, molecules, pH, and temperature sensing. CDs-based ratiometric FL probes have gained extensive research attention due to their excellent biocompatibility, water solubility, and multi-emission capabilities. The probes can eliminate background interference and provide more accurate detection results. The sensing types of CDs-based ratiometric FL probes are classified into five categories based on the difference in spectral variation caused by analytes.

A catalyst-free co-reaction system of long-lasting and intensive chemiluminescence applied to the detection of alkaline phosphatase

Xin Jie Wu et al.

Summary: A catalyst-free co-reaction luminol-H2O2-K2S2O8 chemiluminescence (CL) system was developed, which exhibited long-life and high-intensity emission lasting for 6 hours. The mechanism of persistent and intense emission was discussed based on CL spectra, cyclic voltammetry, electron spin resonance (ESR), and the effects of radical scavengers. A CL-based method for the detection of ALP was established with good linearity and a low limit of detection. This method was successfully applied to detect ALP in human serum samples.
