A Dual-angle fiber dynamic light scattering system integrated with microfluidic chip for particle size measurement

Mei Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel integrated dual-angle DLS prototype was designed to measure particle size by combining microfluidic chip and fiber optic probes. The instrument achieved high accuracy at high concentrations and small sample consumption using a linear regression model for calibration. Additionally, the implementation of dual-angle online measurement in the fiber DLS system with microfluidic chip showed improved repeatability compared to single-angle DLS measurement.

Effect of salt on the lamellar Lα-to-MLV transformation in SDS/octanol/water under microfluidic flow

Liva Donina et al.

Summary: In this study, the effect of added salt and varying flow rate on the phase behavior and flow response of a model surfactant system was investigated. The results show that the addition of a certain amount of salt promotes the formation of multilamellar vesicles and affects the alignment and flow properties of the system. Increasing flow rate enhances the alignment while also accelerating the evolution towards isotropy and multilamellar vesicle formation.

Particle size distribution measurement in a flowing aerosol using dynamic light scattering

Tongtong Mu et al.

Summary: The study shows that increasing flow velocity affects the recovery of particle size distribution via dynamic light scattering, particularly for unimodal and bimodal PSDs. Increasing velocity can lead to errors in peak position and broadening of PSD for unimodal PSD, and can result in a single-peak PSD for bimodal PSD. There is a correlation between velocity and signal noise in measurements, with larger particles having lower signal-to-noise ratio.

Tensiometry and FTIR study of the synergy in mixed SDS:DDAO surfactant solutions at varying pH

Gunjan Tyagi et al.

Summary: The study reveals that mixed SDS and DDAO can lead to decreased CMC and surface tension, with the most significant effect observed at a 1:1 molar ratio. The pH of mixed micellar solutions and molecular interaction parameters at the interface have larger magnitudes, but minimal changes are observed at fixed pH values.
