Commercial oxidized starch (OS) containing oxidized amylose and oxidized amylopectin is proposed as a binder for silicon anodes. The deformable OS with flexible helix-type structure and elastic alpha-linkages in the backbone, and the multi-dimensional interaction between OS and silicon can effectively improve the cycle performance of strong-volume-change silicon anodes.
