Assessment and Impacts of Air Pollution from Brick Kilns on Public Health in Northern Pakistan

Muhammad Subhanullah et al.

Summary: Brick kilns in Northern Pakistan contribute significant air pollution that poses health risks to the community. The study assessed the chemical composition and impacts of this pollution, finding high concentrations of particulate matter that exceed permissible limits and are associated with respiratory diseases. The study recommends implementing pollution reduction measures in brick kiln industries and strengthening environmental management to improve air quality and protect community health.

Dispersion of NO2 and SO2 pollutants in the rolling industry with AERMOD model: a case study to assess human health risk

Mohsen Hesami Arani et al.

Summary: This study aimed to establish an emission model for SO2 and NO2 pollutants from the rolling industry of the Sepid-Farab Kavir Steel complex using the AERMOD model and health risk assessment. Results showed that emissions of SO2 and NO2 from the complex were below the maximum allowable when natural gas was used as the main fuel, although the hourly concentration of SO2 exceeded the standard value. Urban gas was considered a clean source with no adverse effects on worker health.

Ambient air particles: The use of ion chromatography and multivariate techniques in the analysis of water-soluble substances

Zaklina N. Todorovic et al.

Summary: The study conducted ion chromatography analysis on water-soluble substances in particle matter samples of ambient air in a suburb of Belgrade, identifying the main sources of air pollution, classification of samples, and differentiation of samples into groups. Different techniques were used for sample classification with high recognition ability.
