Association between exposure to intimate partner violence and the nutritional status of women and children in Nigeria

Typologies of Intimate Partner Violence Against Women in Five Latin-American Countries: A Latent Class Analysis

Summary: This study examined typologies of intimate partner violence (IPV) against women in Latin American countries and identified three types: high-level, middle-level, and non-IPV. Policies should be developed to screen and prevent IPV based on these typologies, with specific interventions targeted at the high-level IPV group, such as legal and mental health interventions to reduce alcohol consumption and empower women, and interventions to reduce violence justification and increase women's education among the middle-level IPV group.

Association between intimate partner violence and nutritional status of married Nepalese women

Double burden of underweight and overweight among Indian adults: spatial patterns and social determinants

Summary: The study examines the spatial patterns of underweight and overweight among adult men and women in different districts of India, finding that malnutrition burden shows geographical divides across the country. While overweight is prevalent in southern and northern India, underweight risks are higher in central, western, and eastern regions. Despite limited evidence on the double burden of malnutrition, sixty-six districts with double burden have been identified, highlighting the need for specialized policy initiatives to address the coexistence of underweight and overweight issues.

Spousal Violence Against Women in India: A Social-Ecological Analysis Using Data From the National Family Health Survey 2015 to 2016

Summary: This study analyzed the experience of spousal violence among ever-married women in India using a social-ecological framework. The results showed that spousal violence was significantly associated with various levels of social ecology, including individual factors like age, age at marriage, and number of children, as well as societal factors like social norms, domestic crime rates, and prevalence of underage marriage. The study argues for addressing contextual factors to empower women to challenge gender-related equations and investing in gender sensitization education at higher level social ecologies.
