Peripheral muscle oxygenation and symptoms of stress in adolescents with and without temporomandibular disorder

Summary: The study aimed to compare peripheral muscle oxygenation levels and the prevalence of psychological stress in adolescents with and without TMD. The results showed that adolescents with TMD had lower oxyhemoglobin levels in the masseter muscle at rest and during contraction, and exhibited more signs and symptoms of stress.
