Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring: A Review

Pascal A. Schirmer et al.

Summary: The rapid development of technology in the electrical energy sector has led to increased electric power needs. This has resulted in the adoption of smart-meters and smart-grids, as well as the rise of Load Monitoring (LM) using Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) for appliance-specific energy monitoring. The article provides a review of NILM approaches, groups previously published results, and includes a software implementation of the described NILM approaches.

A Systematic Review on Imbalanced Learning Methods in Intelligent Fault Diagnosis

Zhijun Ren et al.

Summary: The theoretical developments of data-driven fault diagnosis methods have been successful in the industry. However, most methods are developed based on the assumption of data balance, which is not applicable in engineering scenarios. The consequence of data imbalance has attracted attention, but a comprehensive review of achievements and research perspectives is still lacking.

Clustering commercial and industrial load patterns for long-term energy planning

Peter Nystrup et al.

Summary: In this study, an automatic clustering method using unsupervised learning was proposed to forecast load profiles for long-term energy planning, considering the heterogeneity in consumers' load profiles. By applying wavelet transform and Kmeans clustering to smart-meter data, eight distinct load profiles were identified and their flexibility potentials were traced.
