Interface Engineering of Hollow CoO/Co4S3@CoO/Co4S3 Heterojunction for Highly Stable and Efficient Electrocatalytic Overall Water Splitting

Huan Li et al.

Summary: Developing a dual-functional catalyst is crucial for improving the performance of electrochemically water splitting. A novel hollow CoO/Co4S3@CoO/Co4S3 heterojunction with a core-shell structure was synthesized as an excellent dual-functional catalyst, exhibiting abundant catalytic active sites and efficient reactant, product, and electrolyte flow. The heterojunction interface promoted both OER and HER reactions, leading to low overpotentials of 190 mV and 81 mV, respectively, at a current density of 10 mA cm-2. Furthermore, the catalyst demonstrated outstanding electrochemical stability and could be driven by a commercial solar panel for water splitting.

One-Step Hydrothermal Synthesis of Mo-Doped Ni3S2 Nanorods for Efficient Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

Kai Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, Mo-doped Ni3S2 nanorods catalysts were prepared using a facile solvothermal method. The doping of Mo accelerated water dissociation, increased the electron transport capacity of Ni3S2, and improved the hydrogen adsorption capacity. NH4OH induced the growth of oriented nanorods and exposed high-index crystallographic surface of Ni3S2. The optimized Mo-Ni3S2 NRs catalyst showed low overpotentials and outstanding durability in alkaline condition.
