Physical Model for the Current-Voltage Hysteresis and Impedance of Halide Perovskite Memristors

Mariana Berruet et al.

Summary: An investigation on the kinetic behavior of MAPbI(3) memristors reveals that the onset voltage to a high conducting state is strongly dependent on the voltage sweep rate, and the impedance spectra exhibit complex capacitive and inductive patterns. By developing a dynamic model, insights into the coupling of ionic and electronic properties that give rise to the resistive switching behavior are obtained. The model effectively distinguishes between diffusion and transition-state-formation steps and describes well the experimental current-voltage curves at different scan rates and impedance spectra.

Solution-Processed Synaptic Memristors Based on Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals

Sixian Liu et al.

Summary: Exploring new materials and structures to construct synaptic devices is a promising approach to achieve novel forms of computing. This study reports the fabrication of thin-film memristors from all-inorganic CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals, which exhibit good stability and function as electrically programmable analog memories. The research reveals that the degree of synaptic plasticity is defined by controlling the charge trapping and ion migration in the nanocrystal films through the amplitude and timing of the programming pulses.

Transition from Capacitive to Inductive Hysteresis: A Neuron-Style Model to Correlate I-V Curves to Impedances of Metal Halide Perovskites

Cedric Gonzales et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite solar cells exhibit different types of hysteresis at different voltage domains, and the hysteresis current is inversely proportional to the voltage scan rate. By constructing a dynamical model, the transition from capacitive to inductive properties can be tracked, and the origin of low-frequency features can be explained. This method provides precise control over the dynamic properties of metal halide perovskite solar cells.

Memristive perovskite solar cells towards parallel solar energy harvesting and processing-in-memory computing

Konstantinos Rogdakis et al.

Summary: The heterogeneity of peculiar ions and carriers in hybrid organic/inorganic materials enables emergent cross-coupled light and electric field tuneable functions. In this study, an inverted perovskite solar cell (MemPVCell) with stable resistance switching characteristics at low voltages was demonstrated, achieving an average power conversion efficiency of around 17%. The MemPVCell exhibits a high resistance state (HRS) to low resistance state (LRS) ratio of up to 10^5 and light-tunable switching cycles. The device retains its performance even after thousands of switching cycles, making it a promising candidate for opto-electronic applications. The layered structure of the MemPVCell was modified to improve its performance, and basic synaptic functionalities tunable by light were demonstrated for potential neuromorphic circuit applications.
