In this article a new heterogeneous nanocatalyst based on palladium supported on Isoniazide-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) has been introduced. The synthetic process of preparation of the mentioned nanocatalyst (Isoniazide-MWCNTs/Pd) has been described. The formation of the nanocatalyst was analyzed by FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, XRD, EDS, TEM, SEM, WDX, ICP and CHN analyses. Additionally, the Isoniazide-MWCNTs/Pd nanocatalyst was successfully employed in Suzuki cross coupling reactions with a wide variety of functionalized substrates. Experiments indicate that the use of 0.2 mol% of Pd, K2CO3 as the base, and aqueous ethanol are the best reaction conditions. Interestingly, the novel catalyst could be recovered and recycled four times without any significant loss in its catalytic activity.
