The selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3 was investigated over microstructured reactors based on Cu/Al2O3 films deposited onto stainless steel microgrids. The catalytic activity results showed that these Cu/Al2O3 films were more active and selective to produce N-2 compared to the conventional catalysts in powder shape with the same copper loadings. The difference was explained by combined features provided by the microstructured catalysts such as the high acid character of the catalytic films, the high copper species dispersion, the nature of the metallic microreactor and its geometric configuration.
