A variety of tetrasubstituted pyrroles were synthesized in good yields in a one-pot, three-component reaction of alpha-hydroxyketones, malononitrile, and ammonium acetate using tungstate sulfuric acid (TSA) under solvent-free conditions. (C) 2016 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
