An important characteristic of substances containing a tetrasubstituted double bond core is their bioactive or physical properties. Consequently, we have witnessed tremendous progress in the stereoselective synthesis of tetrasubstituted alkenes. This minireview summarizes the most important procedures available to synthesize acyclic all-carbon tetrasubstituted alkenes catalyzed by transition metals. The review comprises cross-coupling reactions of electrophilic and nucleophilic templates, as well as other reactions used for the stereoselective synthesis of acyclic all-carbon tetrasubstituted alkenes.
