In this paper, three-dimensional flower-like Ni7S6 was successfully synthesized by a facile one-pot hydrothermal method. The prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and electrochemical testing. Electrochemical measurements indicated that the three-dimensional flower-like Ni7S6 exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity towards hydrogen peroxide and glucose. The sensor based on Ni7S6 performed amperometric sensing of hydrogen peroxide in a wide linear range from 0.005 mM to 20.5 mM with a low detection limit of 0.15 mu M (signal to noise ratio of 3) and high sensitivity of 37.77 mu AmM-1 cm(-2). Meanwhile, the sensor also showed a linear response range of glucose from 0.005 mM to 3.7 mM, with high sensitivity of 271.80 mu AmM-1 cm(-2) and low detection limit of 0.15 mu M.
