Photo-thermal dual curing system was devised and applied to screen printing technology. New formulation of acrylic anchor resins contains a base polymer, which consists of hydrophilic units and solvent-absorbing units. As crosslinkers, multifunctional acrylates were employed. The acrylic anchor resins coated on poly(ethylene terephthalate) films were effectively cured by simultaneous photo irradiation and baking below 80 degrees C. Printing resolution was strongly affected by the formulation of the acrylic anchor resins. An 8-mu m feature size silver circuit was successfully printed without defect on a poly(ethylene terephthalate) film having the acrylic anchor layer. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
