The ministry of presence in absence: Pastoring online in Zimbabwe during the COVID-19 pandemic

Summary: This article reviews the experiences and challenges faced by pastors in Zimbabwe in virtual ministry and explores the concepts of presence and digitalization. Despite numerous difficulties, the article emphasizes the importance of physical presence and recommends that pastors continue ministering in contextually appropriate ways until the end of lockdowns.

Reconfiguration and adaptation of a church in times of Covid-19 pandemic: A focus on selected churches in Harare and Marondera, Zimbabwe

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted religious practices globally, with social distancing and lockdown measures becoming the new norm. This study investigates how churches in Zimbabwe are adapting to the new social order, finding that digital platforms have emerged as the primary means of communication, although challenges exist. The paper also highlights the church's regret at being sidelined in the policy-making process and suggests that they could offer solutions to the problem.
