Evaluation of Three Natural Coagulant from Moringa Oleifera Seed for the Treatment of Synthetic Greywater

Carlos Pena-Guzman et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of three different coagulants obtained from Moringa oleifera seed in synthetic greywater. The results showed that the degreased coagulant achieved the highest removal percentage, while the coagulant from seed husk had the lowest efficiency. It was also found that parameters such as pH and dissolved oxygen were affected by the type of coagulant, while conductivity and alkalinity were not affected by time or the type of coagulant.

Adsorption Behavior of Heavy Metal Ions by Hybrid Inulin-TEOS for Water Treatment

Wan Norfazilah Wan Ismail et al.

Summary: The hybrid inulin-tetraethoxysilane adsorbent prepared through the sol-gel process shows good efficiency and durability in removing heavy metal ions. The optimal conditions are found to be 30 mg adsorbent dosage at pH 4, 5 minutes of contact time with an initial concentration of 0.5 mg/L. Kinetic studies suggest that the pseudo-second order model can describe the overall adsorption process, and an intra-particle diffusion model can explain the adsorption process adequately.

Comprehensive review of floc growth and structure using electrocoagulation: Characterization, measurement, and influencing

Yang Liu et al.

Summary: Electrocoagulation (EC) has gained attention for its environmental sustainability in wastewater treatment. The review comprehensively explores the growth of flocs during EC, introducing the characteristics of flocs grown using EC and describing their size, strength, and fractal geometry in detail. Various structural parameter measurement methods and factors affecting floc growth, such as chemical conditions and hydrodynamics, are summarized, providing insights for future research directions and optimization of electrode materials.
