Optimizing 3D Printing Process Parameters for the Tensile Strength of Thermoplastic Polyurethane Plastic

Duong Le et al.

Summary: This study examines the mechanical characteristics of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) polymer by testing parameters such as temperature, infill angle, infill density, and layer thickness. The Taguchi method is used to design, analyze, and optimize the mechanical properties. The study provides optimal parameter combinations for achieving maximum tensile strength, elastic modulus, and elongation at break value.

Sintering quality and parameters optimization of sisal fiber/PES composite fabricated by selective laser sintering (SLS)

Aboubaker I. B. Idriss et al.

Summary: This article aims to improve the sintering quality of the sisal fiber/poly-(ether sulfone) (PES) composite (SFPC) part fabricated via selective laser sintering (SLS). The influence factors on the quality of the sintered part were studied and analyzed. The results showed that the quality of SFPC part was significantly enhanced when the optimum parameters were applied in SLS process. This article provided important reference value for the choice of the process parameters of the biomass composite.

Fatigue life optimization for 17-4Ph steel produced by selective laser melting

Jean-marc Linares et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a methodology to control the fatigue life of 17-4Ph stainless steel by selecting the most relevant manufacturing parameters. The results show that the fatigue limit of the specimens manufactured by SLM has reached near 90% of the value found in samples machined from a bar, and provides an increase of 18% to the fatigue limit compared to other research works.

Multi-Response Optimization of Surface Grinding Process Parameters of AISI 4140 Alloy Steel Using Response Surface Methodology and Desirability Function under Dry and Wet Conditions

Rakesh Roy et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigated the effect of four controllable input parameters on the surface grinding process of AISI 4140 steel. The process was optimized using a combined approach based on response surface methodology (RSM) and desirability functional approach (DFA). The results showed that the optimal values of the input parameters for wet conditions were determined, and there was a small deviation between the predicted and experimental values of the optimized parameters.

Surface Roughness and Biocompatibility of Polycaprolactone Bone Scaffolds: An Energy-Density-Guided Parameter Optimization for Selective Laser Sintering

Jian Han et al.

Summary: This study investigates the relationship between surface roughness and biocompatibility of PCL bone scaffolds prepared by selective laser sintering. The results show that high energy density leads to changes in scaffold shape and poor surface smoothness, while low energy density promotes cell attachment and proliferation.
