Flexible Wearable Capacitive Sensors Based on Ionic Gel with Full- Pressure Ranges

Mengqin Zhang et al.

Summary: In this paper, a flexible highly sensitive ionic gel (IG) pressure sensor is reported, which can reliably detect a large pressure range from -98 to 100 kPa. The sensor exhibits flexibility, cycling stability, and high sensitivity under both negative and positive pressures. These sensors have a wider application range in wearable electronics, not only for testing breathing and pulse but also for measuring air pressure for estimating the altitude.

A WIRELESS CARDIOVASCULAR PRESSURE SENSOR BASED ON AN IONTRONIC FILM WITH HIGH SENSITIVITY

Ming-Xian Cai et al.

Summary: The ultra-sensitive iontronic wireless pressure sensor presented in this work consists of an inductor coil and a parallel-plate capacitor with a microstructured iontronic film as the key element. With the assistance of electron double layers forming at the iontronic film/electrode interface, the sensitivity of the device is significantly increased, resulting in a pressure sensitivity of 0.014 mmHg(-1), which is about 50 times larger than that of a device without iontronic film.
