Learning for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Cooperative Perception Under Lossy Communication

Jinlong Li et al.

Summary: This paper studies the impact of Lossy Communication on Cooperative Perception and proposes a new approach to mitigate these effects. The approach includes an LC-aware Repair Network and a V2V Attention Module with intra-vehicle attention and uncertainty-aware inter-vehicle attention. The results demonstrate that the proposed method improves detection performance under lossy V2V communication, proving its capability to effectively mitigate the negative impact of LC and enhance the interaction between the ego vehicle and other vehicles.

MetaScenario: A Framework for Driving Scenario Data Description, Storage and Indexing

Cheng Chang et al.

Summary: Autonomous driving research involves analyzing and using massive amounts of driving scenario data. Existing driving scenario datasets suffer from issues such as unclear data fields, inconsistent standards, and ineffective indexing. This paper presents MetaScenario, a framework for driving scenario data, which implements a centralized and unified storage, processing, and indexing system based on a relational database. The framework also includes behavior and interaction annotation, facilitating data extraction and providing valuable analytical references.

Motion Planning for Autonomous Driving: The State of the Art and Future Perspectives

Siyu Teng et al.

Summary: Intelligent vehicles (IVs) have received global attention for their increased convenience, safety advantages, and potential commercial value. Despite the prediction of commercial deployment by 2025, the implementation of IVs remains limited to small-scale validation, requiring precise tracking controllers and motion planners. This article reviews the state-of-the-art motion planning methods for IVs, including pipeline planning and end-to-end planning methods. It discusses the selection, expansion, and optimization operations in pipeline methods, as well as the training approaches and validation scenarios for driving tasks in end-to-end methods. Experimental platforms are reviewed to assist readers in choosing suitable training and validation strategies. A side-by-side comparison of the methods is provided to highlight their strengths and limitations, aiding system-level design choices. Current challenges and future perspectives are also discussed in this survey.

The relationship between public charging infrastructure deployment and other socio-economic factors and electric vehicle adoption in France

Bassem Haidar et al.

Summary: Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) offer a promising low-emission transport solution to replace fossil-fuel dependent Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles (ICEVs). However, their market diffusion is limited by various barriers. This study statistically analyzes the relationship between 21 socio-demographic, technical, and economic factors and BEV and PHEV market shares in 94 French departments from 2015 to 2019, finding different covariates related to BEV and PHEV sales, and providing policy recommendations for the transition to electric mobility in France.
