Development and validation of reassigned CEA, CYFRA21-1 and NSE-based models for lung cancer diagnosis and prognosis prediction

Jingmin Yuan et al.

Summary: This study collected data from lung cancer patients and individuals with benign lung diseases or who were healthy, and reassigned three tumor markers to establish diagnostic and prognostic prediction models. The results showed that these models had good performance in diagnosing and predicting lung cancer. The reassigned tumor markers were found to effectively predict the diagnosis and prognosis of lung cancer, which is important for screening and treatment planning.

The application of CA72-4 in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of gastric cancer

Yitian Xu et al.

Summary: CA72-4, as a tumor marker, plays an important role in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of GC, especially in the Chinese population. By combining with other biomarkers and improving detection techniques, the sensitivity and specificity of CA72-4 can be enhanced. Furthermore, CA72-4 can evaluate therapeutic effectiveness and enhance drug efficacy.

Global cancer statistics 2020: GLOBOCAN estimates of incidence and mortality worldwide for 36 cancers in 185 countries

Hyuna Sung et al.

Summary: The global cancer burden in 2020 saw an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Female breast cancer surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer, while lung cancer remained the leading cause of cancer death. These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.

Screening for Colorectal Cancer: US Preventive Services Task Force Recommendation Statement

Karina W. Davidson et al.

Summary: Colorectal cancer is a significant cause of cancer-related deaths, with high incidence in adults aged 65 to 74. Screening is recommended for adults aged 50 to 75 with substantial net benefit, for those aged 45 to 49 with moderate net benefit, and selective screening is advised for adults aged 76 to 85.

Development of a panel of autoantibody against NSG1 with CEA, CYFRA21-1, and SCC-Ag for the diagnosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Qingzhu Zheng et al.

Summary: The expression of NSG1 protein was significantly higher in ESCC tissues than in paracancerous tissues; serum anti-NSG1 levels were significantly higher in the ESCC group compared to the EBL group and HC group; the combination of serum anti-NSG1 with CEA, CYFRA21-1 and SCC-Ag showed the highest diagnostic efficiency for ESCC.
