Coupling of experimental and theoretical studies to apprehend the action of benzodiazepine derivative as a corrosion inhibitor of carbon steel in 1M HCl

N. Benzbiria et al.

Summary: In this study, a benzodiazepine derivative was used as a corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in 1 M HCl. Various experimental methods and surface observation techniques were employed to evaluate its effectiveness. The results showed that the inhibitor had the highest inhibition efficiency of 90.22% at a concentration of 10-3 M. Electrochemical tests and surface observation confirmed its mixed inhibition properties and strong adsorption on the carbon steel surface. The computational analysis results were consistent with the experimental findings.

Green synthesis of novel carbohydrate polymer chitosan oligosaccharide grafted on D-glucose derivative as bio-based corrosion inhibitor

M. Rbaa et al.

Summary: A novel chitosan oligosaccharide macromolecule carrying a glucose moiety (COS-g-Glu) has been synthesized and proven effective as a non-toxic, durable, and biodegradable inhibitor of mild steel corrosion in acidic medium. Experimental results demonstrate that the corrosion inhibition efficiency of this macromolecule increases with the concentration of the inhibitor, reaching an optimum value of 97% at 10(-3) M.

Corrosion inhibition behavior of chalcone oxime derivatives on carbon steel in 0.5 M H2SO4

A. Thoume et al.

Summary: The study shows that CO-H and CO-OMe exhibit excellent corrosion inhibition performance on carbon steel in 0.5 M sulfuric acid solution, with inhibition efficiencies reaching 95% and 96% respectively. These compounds are classified as mixed type inhibitors, chemisorbed on the carbon steel surface and following Langmuir isotherm.

Novel synthetized benzodiazepine as efficient corrosion inhibitor for copper in 3.5% NaCl solution

N. Benzbiria et al.

Summary: This study investigates the behavior of MHBZO as a corrosion inhibitor for copper in a 3.5% NaCl solution. The results show that MHBZO acts as a good inhibitor with high inhibition efficiency, and its adsorption on the copper surface follows Langmuir isotherm. Monte Carlo simulation reveals the mechanism of MHBZO adsorption and inhibition in the NaCl solution.
