The syntheses and structural characterization of two benzylidenehydrazine derivatives were reported. The properties of the molecules were characterized using various analytical techniques, and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
The syntheses of two benzylidenehydrazine derivatives, namely, (E)-N'-(4'-chloro-3-nitrobenzylidene)acetohydrazide, C9H8ClN3O3, and (E)-2-(4-chloro-benzylidene)-1-(quinolin-8-yl)hydrazine, C16H12ClN3, are reported. The molecules have been characterized using IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and mass spectroscopic and elemental analysis techniques, and their structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
