Coupling coordination degree spatiotemporal characteristics and driving factors between new urbanization and construction industry: evidence from China

Summary: This study investigates the level of coupling coordination between new urbanization and construction industry development in China, and identifies the driving factors influencing their coordination degree. The results show a high coupling degree between the two systems, but the construction industry lags behind new urbanization in most provinces. A positive interactive relationship and coordination mechanism between the two systems has not been established. The driving factors that contribute to the coupling coordination degree are market size, labor resource concentration, government investment ability, economic development level, industrial structure, production efficiency, and technology level.
