Value of corporate social responsibility for multiple stakeholders and social impact-Relationship marketing perspective

Gregor Pfajfar et al.

Summary: Despite extensive literature on corporate social responsibility (CSR), most research has focused solely on corporate performance. This study aims to address this gap by examining companies' perceptions of the societal benefits of CSR activities. The findings suggest a positive relationship between employee-oriented CSR and the perceived usefulness of CSR actions for society, customers, and employees (but not suppliers). Targeting specific stakeholders (customers and employees) rather than society as a whole is key to maximizing relationship quality. Furthermore, there are differences between SMEs and large B2B firms in their perceptions of antecedents and outcomes of relationship quality.
