Facial nerve baroparesis during airflight: a case report and literature review

Summary: Facial nerve baroparesis is a rare phenomenon usually temporary, which can be effectively managed with ventilation tube insertion. In cases of long-standing facial nerve palsy after descent of the aircraft, urgent myringotomy should be performed to prevent permanent facial nerve damage.

Summary: This study found that E-tube function significantly improved in adult chronic sinusitis patients after undergoing ESS, particularly in the right Valsalva test and left deflation test. Therefore, the presence of sinusitis and the implementation of ESS should be considered in managing patients with ear diseases that are affected by E-tube function.
