De Doctrina Christiana and Milton's Canonical Works: Revisiting the Authorship Question
James M. Clawson et al.
Summary: This article challenges the common belief that John Milton is the author of De Doctrina Christiana, presenting evidence that Jeremias Felbinger may be a more plausible candidate. By using newer stylometric methods and a broader selection of candidates, the limitations of previous approaches are shown, leading to a reevaluation of authorship based on style and substance disjunctures between the treatise and Milton's canonical works.
