For the asymmetric hydrophosphonylation of aldehydes, an efficient organocatalytic approach with a diaminomethylenemalononitrilebased hydrogen-bonding donor catalyst is presented. The catalyst induces high yields and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 98% yield, 96% ee).
