Epistemic Beliefs in Science-A Systematic Integration of Evidence From Multiple Studies

Julia Schiefer et al.

Summary: Recent research integrates developmental and dimensional perspectives on epistemic beliefs, modeling learners' epistemic beliefs across multiple dimensions. The study finds that the models of epistemic beliefs are robust across multiple samples, and there is a tendency for the models to homogenize over the course of students' education. These models also show robust relations with school tracking, students' personal characteristics, and socioeconomic background.
