Characterization of exhaled e-cigarette aerosols in a vape shop using a field-portable holographic on-chip microscope

Ege Cetintas et al.

Summary: The past decade has seen a significant increase in the usage of electronic cigarettes. Concerns over the adverse health effects of secondhand exposure to exhaled e-cigarette particles has led to a demand for more research on the characteristics of these particles. This study used a portable device called c-Air to directly measure the volatility of exhaled e-cigarette aerosols. The findings showed that indoor vaping increased the percentage of volatile and semi-volatile particles in the air.

Impact of e-Liquid Composition, Coil Temperature, and Puff Topography on the Aerosol Chemistry of Electronic Cigarettes

Yichen Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of coil temperature, puff duration, and PG:VG ratio on e-cigarette aerosol, finding that PG and VG were the major components and PG was consumed faster than VG during vaping. The risk of acrolein exposure increased with higher VG fractions.
