Summary: This research focuses on the congruence effects between emotional appeal and sense of power in CSR communication. It found that featuring pride, as opposed to empathy, in social media posts can effectively boost consumers' loyalty intention, particularly for individuals with a high sense of power. The psychological mechanism behind this congruence effect is serially mediated through consumers' perceived brand authenticity and brand trustworthiness. Understanding how the sense of power influences consumer response to emotional appeals in social media posts is valuable for marketers in crafting effective CSR communication and relationship building on social media.
