Mindfulness-based programs and school adjustment: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Jessica Mettler et al.

Summary: Mindfulness-based programs (MBPs) are being used in educational institutions to improve students' mental health and resilience, but further research is needed to understand their effectiveness. This meta-analysis reviewed 46 studies and found that MBPs had small to moderate effects on school adjustment, academic performance, impulsivity, attention, and mindfulness. The effects varied based on students' educational level and the type of program, and only programs delivered by experienced facilitators had significant effects.

Summary: Childhood bullying is a significant public health issue with long-lasting negative effects on individuals. Victims who are perceived as different, especially in physical appearance, are at higher risk of being bullied.
