16S rRNA Gene Amplicon Sequencing of the Gut Microbiota of Chimaera phantasma (Silver Chimaera) Captured off Koshimoda in Suruga Bay, Japan

Summary: The intestinal microbiota of Chimaera phantasma (silver chimera) (two females and one male) collected off Koshimoda in Suruga Bay in April to May 2022 were comprehensively analyzed. Bacteria belonging to the phylum Proteobacteria were the dominant species. Occupancy rates of other bacterial phyla differed greatly among the samples.

Improvement of growth, yield and associated bacteriome of rice by the application of probiotic Paraburkholderia and Delftia

Summary: This study demonstrates that the application of P. fungorum and Delftia sp. plant probiotics significantly increases the germination, growth, and yield of rice, as well as promotes the diversity and abundance of bacterial communities in rhizosphere soil. It provides the first evidence that the application of plant growth promoting bacteria can improve growth, yield, and increase bacterial community diversity in rice.

Induction of mastitis by cow-to-mouse fecal and milk microbiota transplantation causes microbiome dysbiosis and genomic functional perturbation in mice

Summary: This study successfully induced mastitis in mice through fecal microbiota transplantation and milk microbiota transplantation, resulting in dysbiosis of the microbiome and perturbations in genomic functions. The results suggest significant differences in microbiome composition between cow and mouse mastitis, indicating a higher discrepancy in mastitis-associated microbiomes among lactating mammals.
