Antecedents and effect of creative accounting practices on organizational outcomes: Evidence from Bangladesh

Muhammad Shajib Rahman et al.

Summary: This study examines the antecedents and effects of creative accounting practices (CAP) on organizational outcomes in Bangladesh. It finds that sustainable financial data (SFD) is not an antecedent of CAP, but political connections (PC), corporate ethical values (CEV), future company orientations (FCO), and corporate governance practices (CGP) are. The study also confirms that CAP has a positive impact on the quality of financial reporting (QFR) and a negative impact on decision-making effectiveness (DME), while QFR has a positive and significant impact on DME. These findings can be taken into consideration by policymakers, accounting bodies, regulators, and investors in formulating policies and investment decisions. The study also highlights the importance of PC, CEV, CFO, CGP, QFR, and DME in reducing CAP and improving organizational outcomes.

The Impact of Eco-innovation and Clean Energy on Sustainable Development: Evidence from USA

Li Li

Summary: Recently, there has been increasing attention on the importance of natural resources in compensating energy requirements in the economy. This study explores the dynamic role of solar energy in reducing CO2 emissions and promoting economic growth in the US. By applying the QARDL approach, the study finds that solar energy contributes to economic growth and mitigates CO2 emissions across different quantiles in the US. Eco-innovations also play a significant role in reducing CO2 emissions and promoting economic growth. Bidirectional quantile causality is identified between these factors. The study suggests the implementation of solar energy and eco-innovations for sustainable growth in the country.
